Monterey County Agricultural Education Inc. is funded largely by the generous dues and donations of its members. We are a local entity that is not funded by any other ag education organization. The strong support our own agriculture community is vital to our survival. In 2002, Monterey County Agriculture grossed $2.8 billion. If only one tenth of 1% was dedicated to increasing ag literacy, the public would have a much better understanding of our industry that is essential to their survival.
The Annual General Membership Meeting for Monterey County Agricultural Education
is held every February. This meeting reviews the past year and plans for the
future. Monterey County Agricultural Education uses this meeting to celebrates
its members every year; its success is a direct result of its active members
and supporters. During this annual meeting, the general membership also elects
its board officers, which serve for a one year term.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of the programs developed by Monterey County Agricultural Education. All of the planning, scheduling, organizing would be lost without the efforts of individual volunteers. Each volunteer helps bring our industry to life, making a personal and positive connection with those learning about agriculture.
Volunteering for a program of Monterey County Agricultural Education is not difficult, nor does it take a lot of time…and the rewards are great! Please volunteer—or recruit new volunteers—for an event or two this year. You will make a definite difference in the public perception of agriculture. Once your participate in one of our programs, you’ll be hooked!
